This is a new start for Tottenham Hotspur (We’ve been here before, all too often) with a new manager (Been here a few times recently) and maybe some new signings (been here as well) and hopefully the horrors of last season will be consigned to the dustbin of forgotten history
The high line that Pochettino may be similar in some respects to the style AVB tried to adopt but hopefully we will move the ball forwards quicker once we have possession. Something that seemed to serve many of the sides in the world cup quite well.
The questions has to be now – do we have the players to do this successfully, Our strikers last season hardly covered themselves in glory and the defence was prone to Brazianesque lapses of concentration. The signs coming from the training ground seem to be pointing towards a squad that seem happy with their new boss and perhaps we will get a glimpse of what might follow on thios American tour but the proof of the pudding as they say will be when we start to kick balls in anger.
That really is not that far away now with the Premier League starting all over in around a month from now. The Europa League campaign starts pretty much straight away as well and that has a bigger prize this season with a Champions League place to the winners.
On another note, the new stadium seems a step closer with the governmant finally approving the scheme and giving the final CPO the green light. Maybe it won’t be all that long before we move into a shiny new 58000 seater state of the art stadium.
